Full Itinerary

Day 1 — Machame Gate → Machame CampBegin at Machame Gate and trek through montane forest, reaching Machame Camp where you camp amid dense vegetation.

Day 2 — Machame → Shira CampClimb out of the forest to open moorland and the Shira Plateau — long walking with excellent views for acclimatization.

Day 3 — Shira → Lava Tower → Barranco CampTraverse the plateau to Lava Tower (active acclimatization point) then descend to Barranco Camp for rest.

Day 4 — Barranco → Karanga CampTackle the famous Barranco Wall and continue across alpine terrain to Karanga Camp.

Day 5 — Karanga → Barafu CampShorter day toward Barafu Camp to prepare gear and rest ahead of summit night.

Day 6 — Barafu → Uhuru Peak → Mweka CampSummit push begins late-night; reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise and descend to Mweka Camp for recovery.

Day 7 — Mweka Camp → Mweka GateFinal descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate and transfer to accommodation in Moshi or Arusha.
